Dive into the rich gold mining history of Yackandandah and try your luck at panning for gold. Yackandandah is rich in gold mining history and owes its creation to the discovery of gold in 1852. Alluvial gold was the main source of gold found and tent cities were a feature of the landscape as miners tried their luck in the creeks surrounding Yackandandah.

A popular spot to pan for gold is known as The Junction, where Clear Creek and Nine Mile Creek merge into Yackandandah Creek.

Anyone who wishes to prospect in any form within Victoria must be in possession of a Miners Right. Under 18 year olds do not need a miners right as long as they are in the direct company and supervision of an adult who holds a current miners right.

Stop by the Yackandandah Visitor Information Centres to purchase a Miners Right and grab some tips from a local on where to head.

Time to make some golden memories! 🌟

@spookymenschorale are playing at the Yackandandah Public Hall next Thursday 4 April. Tickets are still available, but they're going fast! Secure your spot now and be part of an evening that celebrates the absurdity and wonder of the modern man through the power of song.
